Help! I changed my password in Lotus Notes and I forgot what it was (that will teach me to change my password before I leave on a Friday night). Our administrator doesn't know how to fix it. He got me into my account via web browser, but I cant access some of my database stuff. Can anyone tell me how to fix my password?
Thank you for your help,
Scott

Do your admin people not keep a 'safe' copy of your Notes ID on a server which has a default password on it? If they don't, who was on the ACL of your mailfile? They may have to create you a new mailfile, log in as a server on your old mailfile (if they have set this up), create a local replica and then replicate everything over to your new ID. Have the admin create a new mail account for you. Use your name as is but add a the number one to the new mailfile. ie: ciiscott1. When it asks to replace the current ID file - say yes. In the Domino Directory or Public Address Book under your Person Document change the mailfile name to the old mailfile name not the ciiscott1 but the orginal one. Go to your original mailfile ACL and add the new ID as Manager and person. You can delete the new mailfile of ciiscott1.

What you are doing is creating a new id and giving that id manager rights to your old mailfile.

If your admin has set up the recovery information in your id file, he would be able to recover it
Also, having an safe copy of your id file (with the initial password) is always the first backup a good admin should go for... Peter Van Eeckhoutte
