"This database cannot be read due to an invalid on disk structure"

I get this error message when replicating a users mailfile. Im using notes 4.6.2. The replica seems to work as it is accessible after the replication is perfomed. But this error is displayed right at the very end of replicating. Please help

That error is typically seen when you try opening locally a db that was modified by a superior version of Notes.
For example, if you do a network copy (not Notes File/Database/Copy) of a db that has an ODS corresponding to R5 or R6, you will not be able to open it without a server in R4.x.
I would suggest upgrading the local Notes client to a higher level, or opening the db from a server instead (the R5/R6 servers know how to "transform" db code for an R4.x client).

Thanks man ! I Appreciate your help. It's not possible for me to upgrade the client (corporate standard is 4.6.2). It is possible to open the DB and it's replica, it's just the annoying message I'm tying to get rid of. Don't suppose you've any other suggestion.

You could try compacting the db on the server. Normally that does the job for upgrading from a previous version. I do not know if it actually sets the ODS version to that of the server (i.e. downgrading if necessary).

Hi Dan,

We see this error message in R5 aswell, a user gets it sometimes when accessing his mail on the network. We have found that it relates to the icon on the workspace. Have you tried removing the icons and readding them.

Thanks

Dudes, tried the DB compact from the server and no joy. I've done a load fixup from the console, removed the mail icon and readded, I've even replaced the DB design on the user's adr. bk. which I heard would work. Still having no success though. I'll try removing the rest of the icons and readding them to the workspace. And see how that goes.

Thanks again for the tips lads !
