Lost User Password

Hi. I have inheirited the phone system at my new job. I am NOT a techie, I'm a paralegal. The maunals are difficult to decipher (for me).

1st Issue:
1.Old employee set password on handset for msg retrieval. 2.Old employee died suddenly.
3.New employee cannot access msg, due to invalid password.

4.Have tried to reset, unsuccessful. Please help.

Go into Feature 983. (Your log password will depend on whether your intercom numbers are 2 digit or 3 digit. If 2 digit the default is 120000 and if 3 digit the default is 1020000.) Enter the log password and press OK display button. Press MBOX display button. Press Change display button. Enter the mailbox that needs the password reset. Press reset display button. This changes the password to '0000'. When the new user enters the mailbox - use '0000' for the password and follow the instructions to change it to a unique password that cannot begin with '0' and must be 4 to 8 digits long.

If this isn't working please provide more details as to what you're doing so I can help further.
