I THREW MY JEWEL CASE AWAY FOR MY FRONTPAGE 2000. I FORGOT THAT MICROSOFT PUTS THE KEY ON THE BACK SINCE THEN I HAVE FORMATTED MY DRIVE. IS THE A WAY TO GET THE KEY BACK.

Why would anyone throw the jewel case away? I've always wondered about that. To me, the jewel case is PART of the product. I never have understood that mentality.

the reason i threw the jewel case away was because i put all my disc's in a case logic cd holder i have over 50 different cd in it that many jewel cases is hard to keep up with. and i just forgot about the key on the back it should be on the front any ways. and yes i know i made a mistake. sorry

Just a pointer-
Whenever I get a new piece of software I take a permanent marker and write the3 serial number, CD-Key or both if applicable directly on the disk.
It has saved my butt a ton of times

I dont know if it will work for FP 2000, but there is a skull key for microso. products. I nkow the skull key works with office 97, its all 1's.

Example
1111-OEM-1111111111

Like that, its worth a shot.

If you registered your product, you can call Microsoft at (425) 635-7056 and they will give you the installation key.

I bought a new computer and wanted to install my FrontPage 2000 on it. I had lost the CD key just like you, so it wouldn't let me install. So I called them and they gave me the key over the phone.

Although I know it's too late for you since you already formatted the HD, but under the "Help | About" menu, there is your registration number. I had that number, but not the CD key when I called them and other than verifying that I still had the original CD (by asking for the part number printed on the original CD), they only asked for my name and phone number. Since I was already registered, they had everything else in their computer already.

I'm sure if you don't have your registration number, they will be asking you many more questions.

But if you registered it, and have the original CD, then call them and ask for the CD Key. You paid for the software, so they'll be more than happy to give you the key. :)
