Hi, There:

Is anyone knows what happen?

Our workstations(win2000 pro) have some trouble with the network printer.

Every day when they use for a while, their desktop will lost their printer, they can't print any more. Only way I can solved this problem was re-start their computer. After restart every network printer will go back. Some time one day can be happen 3 times. That's so frustrate.

Anyone has any idea. Thanks so much. Please!!!

Ann

Check the Spooler service on the local box. If it stops for what ever reason all the printers will go away. This service by default is set to Automatic start up and that is why after a reboot the pirnters show back up. Sounds like something is stopping the print spooler

Thx. There.

You are right. The print spooler is not started.

One more question, the user don't have permission to start it. I used the admin to change this. When next time it is reboot, it will be keep status to be started. Is it correct?

Thanks Again
Ann

Yes. Log on as an administrator, then go to Services and make sure the Spooler is set to Automatic and that it is started. Then any time the computer re-boots it will start.

Thank you so much. You are the best.
