We have two Cisco 801 routers returned to us from a client site. We want to reconfigure them but do not have the existing RO/RW strings, User ID, etc.

Is there some way to reset the router back to factory defaults or to blow the config away to allow us to start again?

Cheers

Hi benzito,

I tried the url you suggested. Everything seemed fine until near the end. I received the following error message:

WARNING: no valid "boot system" command. TinyROM will pick an IOS image to boot.

The changes I made to the passwords has made no difference to our access. We are still advised that the entry we make is incorrect.

Cheers
