Is there any method of resetting the caroot password if it is forgotten / lost.

I'm inheriting a network, nobody remembers what it is frmo when the servers were setup 2 or 3 years ago; one of the servers doesn't back up any more and I can't even get in to see whats going on in the job logs.

Hi MarkatLMFJ

Just go to your ArcServe BrightStor installation folder (usually: C:\Program Files\CA\BrightStor ARCserve Backup) and run from the command prompt:
authsetup.exe /p <newpassword>
This will reset the password for caroot.
