Gang,
I've got an Access2003 database. It has been secured using a file "secured.mdw" and everything is working fine - except that we have lost the passwords to the two accounts that have full admin rights.
Users are able to get in and function, but only two accounts have full admin rights and those are the ones I will be needing to access in a couple of weeks to make database changes. The passwords were in a supposedly secure location but there was some damage to that location and the written copy is unrecoverable.
Replacing the .mdw file with the system.mdw probably not much help. I'm not up on how Access security works, but I'm pretty sure copying over system.mdw to secured.mdw isn't gonna cut it.
It may be against forum policy to answer "how can I hack into Access?" - and I apologize if it is - but that's exactly what I need to do if I can't remember the passwords on the admin accounts to this database.
Is this even possible to do? I browsed and found some commercial products but they seem to be more in the "database password" line of recovery, and there is no database password. I need to recover the user passwords.
What a way to end a week!
Any advice appreciated.
Regards,
Jim
