Don't know when this started. I have Outlook Express (6) set to "open e-mail" when I click on it. If I need to access anything to do with the O.E. program, I go into e-mail, scroll up and click to the line that says "Outlook Express". I just tried it today and when I click on "Outlook Express". I get a blank page with "Outlook Express" at the top! I tried add and remove, and I.E.Fix. Any ideas?

This is getting to the rediculous stage. Sfc /scannow (with slipstreamed disk), didn't help. When I turn off "open to inbox", it just opens to the blank page with "Outlook Express" at the top, and no e-mail menu. Shall I just give up, and wait for Vista?

What do you mean by "no-email menu"?

Humor me & replace your msoeres.dll with This one (With OE closed of course)

Also, what happens & what do you see when you go to File, Identities, Manage Identities?

TRy going to the command prompt (start/Run type in cmd select OK)
CD\
CD Program Files
CD Outlook Express
msimn.exe /reg
Hit enter after each command when it has completed the msimn.exe /reg it will not show any output then try opening OE.

Identities shows one "Main Identity". Replacement and re-register had no effect.
No e-mail menu: normally, with "go to inbox" checked, it opens with "Outlook Express" at the top of the menu, with "inbox", "sent items", "deleted items", etc. directly below it. When I uncheck "go directly to inbox", reopen, I get the same page with just "Outlook Express" at the top - no additional menu.

The behaviour that you're talking about makes it sound as if your "local folders" aren't expanded. Make sure the sign next to the "local folders" is a "-". If it is a "+" click on the "+" and it will expand your local folders.

Cheers.

Local Folders" isn't even listed. Neither are the others inbox, drafts, outbox, deleted items. All these DO show up when it is set to "go directly to inbox" is chosen. If I uncheck "go directly", the page opens the same (Outlook Express at the top), with nothing listed below it.

Try creating a new identity and setup your email addresses in the new identity and find out if it then works.Just to verify that its not a corrupt identity.
