Hi:
I have a NetWorker Server on Windows 2K Server whit 1 Storage Node on remote network, also w2k.

For some strange reason, the configuration of groups and drive's disappear of the console and I have had to resort to bootstrap to recover the last configuration.

Somebody will have experienced this situation and will know so that it happens and as it is the solution?

Thank's

gabriel

I would not doe this as the media index will be overwritten and most likely will not be up-to-date any longer.

The following procedure will help:
- Using "mminfo -B", find the most recent bootstrap ssid
- Recover only the resource directory as follows:
recover -S ssid -a ...\nsr\res
- Then activate these resources as usual

Good luck.

Yes, I make an Save Set Recovery to another location on server and only copy de /nsr/res Directory to original location. Then the services was restarted and the configuration recovered.
The questios is why i lost the configuration, DATABASE coruption?

Thank's

No idea ... you are much closer to your system. If you can't answer it, who else?

Sometimes sparadic things happen - maybe due to a coincidence of multiple effects. You most likely can never find the cause. But as long as you find an elegant way to solve the problem ...

I would check the Virus scannning or any other automatic process like spywhare detector, firewall etc that could qurantine the directories, limit the number of users\admins.
uninstall all unnessary programs from the server and if you are sharing file or print services on the backup server consider repurposing.
Also what level of OS are you running, is your server uptodate with patches and fixes. Is there any correption in disks? drivers ? OS ?
Check the eventlog and enable auditing on nsr directories selectively.
