You know when you click in a cell and there is a dashed border around the active cell. Or when you click a column or row and it highlights the column or row. Or when you click in a cell and drag a bunch of cells and it highlights them all. I've lost the ability to do that. Let me rephrase... I can do it but I can't visually see that I've done it. I see no highlighting or shading or dashed borders or anything. I can't figure it out and I've tried looking in options and I've checked on the gridlines/cell borders/cell background... nothing is working. Any clues?

Are you able to enter data into a cell?

If not, maybe the Select Objects button (on the Drawing toolbar) is turned on.

Is it just in Excel you have the visual problem? If you open Word and insert a table, are you able to select a row or column?

Can you select a paragraph of text and visually drag it to a different location ok?

Hi,

Excel may be tired. ;-)

Shut it down and reopen.

Reboot if necessary.

Sorry I didn't respond to your responses... truthfully I forgot I had posted on the topic and hadn't checked my email account the notices go to. I think Skip was right...Excel must have been tired or something. Although I had opened and closed many many different Excel spreadsheets... I click of the kill switch (shutdown) and when it booted back up everything was fine. Anyway, thanks for responding.
