I have a database that has lost its menu dropdowns. I no
longer can see File Edit View Insert etc. etc. accross
the top of my database. Does anyone know what might have
happened and what can I do to get them back?

Did you try to open the database with the shift key depressed ?

Hope This Helps, PH.

I would imagine that you have set start-up options. Try opining the database while you hold the shift key down (keep it held until the database opens fully). If it opens with the menus, check the start-up options to see if Allow Full Menus has been disabled.

I have tried that and it still opens without the menus.
Under Options "Always show full menus is checked

Ok, I am confused, where did you get Options from if you have no menus? Also, I mentioned Start-Up, can you get at that (it is a few lines above Options on the tools menu)?

I did not say I had no menus, I have no menu bars. I can
still right click and get to customized menus, I just
cannot get the Menu Bars dropdowns.

WSo can you get at Start-up? How about Tools->Customize, can you get that?

No I donot have the I called them menu bars but maybe
they are command bars across the top of the application.
I have a couple of tool bars but cannot get the dropdowns.

Right click on each of the toolbars/menubars, do you get a list? If so try ticking some suitable items on the list.

You can also try some code:
DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdStartupProperties

Or:
DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdToolbarsCustomize
