lost LOMlite username and password 1

Hi All,

Please I have a Netra X1 with me at the moment. It belongs to a client who cannot remember the LOMlite username and password for the box. It suddenly "stopped" working one day and the box was brought to my office. I connected to it via the ALOM port and discovered that it was at the LOMlite prompt. What can I do please?

Since I cant get past the LOMlite prompt there is no way to know what is wrong with the box? Or is there?

Check the end of this thread. Looks like a jumper will reset it for you...

Thanks a lot SamBones, but I can't find the J13 jumper on my motherboard.
Also do I jumper the "jumper" with the system powered?

I have looked everywhere on the board - found J19 among others but no J13

Do you know of anywhere I can find a diagram showing the locations of the jumpers? I have searched on the web but no luck. Thanks again.

Hi Sirt, thanks for the link. I have tried to reset the LOM by jumpering the jumper JP13 but to no effect. Maybe I didnt go about it properly? If I put on the jumper then power the box, it doesnt come on at all -it is as if no power was supplied to the box. Ok. I then powered on the box and jumpered it - it freezes at the LOMlite login request prompt until I remove the jumper - I have done this a few times but when I reboot it I still get the LOMlite login prompt back. Just once I got the lom> prompt but it seems it must have been a glitch because I cant seem to repeat whatever I did to get the prompt.

Please help.

How do I get rid of the password so I can get into the box?
What happens if I remove the onboard battery for a few minutes? Thanks.
