I'm new to all this. I have successfully installed personal oracle, and now don't know whether I should be able to open a local database. Shouldn't there be some way that I can create a database on local, and start playing with it?

Thanks,

Kevin

HI,

U can open the database byusing sql+ with following username and password

user name scott
password tiger
connect string odbc:polite

before that check your odbc configuration

hope this will work...

Thanks for the Note. I will try to remember that this is an option.

It turns out I downloaded the wrong file somehow. When I installed the right file, things worked as advertised.
