A user reported that when she _tried_ to archive a subfolder all mail in that folder has disappeared.

We re running Exchange Server 5.5 with deleted item retention set to 30 days. Client side is Outlook 2000.

i was unable to find any of the missing items in either her trash, the retentioned deleted items or in any of her folders (i suspected she may just have moved it).
additionally i checked all the files she d created that day and could not find anything like a mail archive or export file.

anyone got an idea what could ve happend?
i m sorry that i cant give you any further or more technical detail ... that just is all i know.

Check the properties of the folder and see where the archive settings are pointing. If it has never been changed from the default then there will be a pst file buried deep within the c:drive of the PC.
