Well this is a weird one but then again aren't all computer issues.....LOL
The issue is that when the primary server goes down the secondary server [with the queue] captures all the e-mail being sent to mydomain.com or so I thought. Last night our server went down and an e-mail was sent at 6:00am to a user account. The server didn't comeback up until 8:00am. When the queue sent the mail in the queue back to us I recieved an e-mail that was sent at 5:48am but someone else didn't recieve a mailsent 12 minutes later. The e-mail was resent and recieved. Then a flood of users mentioned similar problems in the past. When I checked the mail queue on the backup server nothing was there. and I can't find the e-mail anywhere so where might it have gone.

I am using mandrake 8 and sendmail Version 8.12.8

Thanks

If it wasn't in the mailqueue of your backup mailserver, and there was nothing in the logs, it was probably bounced.... You should be getting bounce messages, but that might take a while

Alright Not sure if this is the same problem or a new one. I have had users complain that e-mail has been sent to them but is not being recieved by them. Internally this works fine but on occassion a user will be sent an eMail from a client however they never recieve it and the client never recieves an error message. Any Ideas
