I started configuring a 2600 router a few weeks ago. I started the config, wrote it to memory. I know the router took the config because I shutdown and powered on several times and everything seemed ok.

I just powered the router on to finish configuring, and now it's asking if I want to setup the basic config?????

what happened? did I just lose everything I had already done????

any help would be appreciated...

It would appear that you have lost your config.

be sure to type "copy run start" before shuting down the router. Better yet, save it to a tftp server if you have one available. If you don't, get one set-up.

Check your configuration register - the router might be booting up and not loading the config. (show version).
config register should be 0x2102.
