Lost Cisco Password

I have an cisco 1751 router. a person before me configured the router with a password that nobody knows. i have went to cisco's web site and they told me to use a the Confreg command. well i did that and went in to enable a new password it seems to implement the password but when i reload the router the password wont work? could someone help.

i did that but when i reload the router the passwords dont work. i cannot get past the "user access verification" part.

never mind i figured it out.

If you have gone through the trouble of changing the config register, reloading, changing passwords etc.. then do not forget to change the config register back and then copy your running config to startup before reloading again.

This should work.....
