Greetings,

Not to long ago I lost my c:\ drive in MY Computer Sense I have made a shortcut to get inside the c: drive but makes life tuff sense I can't get to get from like word or select it to have my anit-virus program scan. I have tried different views and everything. Not sure what else to do

Thanks,

Delete the shortcut.

I am not exactly certain what you did.

Do a Start, Search, and search for Explorer.exe. Drag this to the Desktop to create a new shortcut.

That did not bring back the c:\ I found it the windows folder.

plus I can't search the c:\ because it is not there.

WEll you know it's there but it's not

Thanks

It just says file not found

I was at the root of c:\
c:\attrib -s -h c:\
file not found

See if you can work this Reg fix in reverse.

Have you hidden the drive in Group Policy or with Tweak UI?

Someone, somewhere, mentioned about this problem being caused by having an Autorun.inf file in the root of C drive.

Have a look at C Drive in the Disk Management tool, see what it says there about access if you right click on C drive.

This time it takes the command, but only without the backslash c:

Also it did not work.

Just want to make sure you understand the problem.
If you open up My Computer then you should see all your drives.

you have your removable drives (they show up)
You have your network drives (they all show up)
And your Hard drives (they should show up)

I don't even see it in explorer.

The only way I can get in is with a shortcut I created which is just to c:\ but your limited in what you can do with a shortcut

Thanks,

I checked out TweakUI which I installed along time ago not sure how it came unchecked.

I'm just going to laugh about

Thanks linney
