I have been using my computer for over a year with no UNUSUAL problems and I am not sure when this problem showed up since I didn't use either CD or DVD for about a month and have made no changes to any programs used for these devices, but no CD's or DVD's are recognized in Windows Explorer (or Powerdesk). I have a CDRW drive (E:) and a DVDRW (F:) and they have been working fine for over a year. Device manager looks good for both and they are okay in BIOS and the drive letters show up but no CD is recognized from either when inserted. They do power up and spin when inserted. I checked the event viewer and see errors pertaining to service control manager and other items pointing to CDROM0 and CDROM1.I show 3 minidumps indicating bugchecks. I have not removed any software prior to the failures. I can post the minidumps and provide further info on the event messages if needed.

Thanks

Follow these steps as I think autorun has been turned off. Go to start, run, then type regedit and hit enter. Navigate to this path.

Hkey_local_machine, System, Services, now click on autorun to where its highlighted in blue. Look to your right and right click on auto run. Change the number from 0 to 1. Restart your computer now and you should have your drives working again like you want.

I got it fixed. It was InCD4 causing issue. Thanks for your input.
