One of my users has lost all tasks, contacts and mail for the last 5 months. Mail that was sent to her previously was maintained for some reason. This is a very important mail account and need it to be working, anyone ever heard of this before? or have any suggestions on where to start?
Running Exchange 5.5 on NT 4.0 and Outlook 2000 on Windows 2k pro.
Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!

Where were the contacts stored? In the contacts folder of the server?

Have you added any services to outlook recently? Is it just the shortcut that has been regenerated to point to the wrong folder?

You should also check and see if the users Outlook client software has Auto Archiving turned on and what paramters may be defined for that setting.

If I remember right it is in on by default for all folders with a fairly short time frame.

Thanks Guys, I found the problem. My User turned on enable offline use in Outlook 2000. She runs it on her laptop and when she came back into the office, it was sync'n over 5000 messages. We just wern't patient enough to let it load. I spoke to her about archiving and deleting some of her messages.... over 90 MB worth of e-mail!!!
Thanks for your help again!
