Hi Folks,

We are constantly having our profiles corrupted. This happens seemingly at random with no consistency as to who it affects.

Any suggestions.

Thanks,

Jes

Are you using a policy file ? And if so, have you entered that the profile has to be deleted when a user logs off ?
Are you using thin clients or fat clients ? Check if you do not have slow connections. They also tend to corrupt profiles.

If using roaming profiles, with Win2k Terminal server, make sure you store roaming profiles on a Win2k Server (per MS technet article). Look in event viewer for USRENV error showing read only file copy error in the profiles.
Do not manually delete profiles from c:\documents and settings. Use the system properties/profiles dialog box.
Make sure you did not delete the default user profile folder. If so, copy one from another server.

Hi Folks,

Thanks for the advice. We are using thin client and are in the process of updating to a big, huge, fat pipe :)

Most of the problems have been resolved and I think the final one will be done by checking the flag above.

Many thanks,

Jes
