Losing to Toshiba

26 Phone / PRI VoIP System.

Customer says they are going with Toshiba.

Reasons:

1. Toshiba offers 7 year hardware warranty.

2. Their research turned up info that Avaya has problems with high call volume although they did say it was not neccessarily the IPO that had the problems.

Need some ammo here.

It would depend on the senario. What features are they looking at and need. I don't know what Tosh systems are like now, haven't worked on one since the DK280's (and they were limited!!)

With only 26 phones, I wouldn't think that high call volume would come into it (and it's not something I have come across/heard)

7 year hardware warranty should only matter to the maintainer as, assuming they have a contract, you will be replacing kit if it went faulty!

I also think the IP Ofice will win out on features if that's what is important to them, I agree if the system is maintained that any failure is covered as long as they are covered. I have a couple of sites with 120 channels (E1) in and they have no issue with high call volume and useage, Have you done a Demo? That's you real chance to shine

Demo with VM Pro, PM Pro and throw on a One-X mobile and I think you will be ok.

I'm not sure of the details, but 0% finance is doing well for Avaya at the moment also.

Yes we have sold 6 systems this month (1 just today) and the 4 years interest free credit certainly helped!!

I think VM PRO is going to be my foot in the door.

The customer is a small electric utility. They want a system that can take a call when the customers power is out, lookup up a phone number in a database, return the customers address, then send an email with the address to a truck in the field. I can do all that and more in VM PRO.

I would be surprised if Toshiba voice mail could do the above but I honestly don't know anything about Toshiba.

When I went in to do the demo the guy I was supposed to meet called in sick. The person I wound up talking to wasn't real interested in seeing a demo so I only got to do my power point presentation.

 
VMpro is the best solution there is
Setup the things he need and show it

Then they are happy and you have the deal

we use the IPO in very busy taxi firms. i mean calls in call status as long as your arm, and its just runs and runs and runs. we also use the IPO at Preferenial Insurance with a fairly complex VM Pro AA ( guys also are very very busy.

We also use SIP extensively now and again, its a painless operation.

I really dont think you have any worries. If you need references let me know.
