Hello again.

Option 11C Rls 23.55 (patches below)

We have LOSFAs, (around one a minute) on both PRIs -- they both increment up at the same time. The Option 11 froze up twice in April and the tech that our vendor sent out, blamed it on the LOSFAs. And said we need to contact our CLEC.

We did and our CLEC "can't see anything wrong".

Until the switch freezes, the people at this location don't report any problems.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I posted some switch information, below.

Thanks.

I see that you are clocking off Loop 5 ,maybe you need to get the circuit number and conatct the carrier to ensure that that is the same one they are clocking off,or you could change the clocking to 4 and see what happens. Also do you have a CSU ? You may can try a recycle of the CSU as well.

LEC's and CLEC's will rarely, if ever admit to seeing any problems. In my experience, they will report back to me they find no issues but most of the time the issues stop after that. I think they find a problem, fix it, and deny everything.

JohnThePhoneGuy

"If I can't fix it, it's not broke!

Did you CLEC come out to your location and check at their demarc? If they were checking from their switch, they are only testing their receive not your receive, and even if they looped the equipment back it still does not cover everything that is their responsibility. You need to get them on site. You could give them a hard loop after their demarc and see if they see anything.

Frame Alignment is a clocking issue, escalate to the LEC if need be, as johnthephoneguy says, they never admit issues and then its fixed and no one did anything!

Calling the telco...pfffft! Might as well just listen to your music-on-hold for an hour or two.

Follow Spunky's suggestions and switch your clocking and bounce your CSU. You can try switching your PRI cards with each other and see if that helps. Be sure to switch the daughterboard, too, if one has it and the other doesn't.

Seems weird that the Opt11 would "lock up" for losfa's on your PRIs. We had issues with our telco and flaky pri and tie with lots of losfa's and all that would happen is a fast busy when someone tried to dial outside or across the tie.

If the Opt11 locked up hard and took down everything, you've probably got more problems than PRI issues. Keep us informed of your progress...might be useful for troubleshooting similar in the future...

Hope this helps...

First off you have Option 11C Rls 23.55

that tells me that:

1 your clock programming is wrong:
.ssck 0
ENBL
CLOCK ACTIVE
SYSTEM CLOCK - LOCKED TO SLOT 5
PREF - 5 <--------------- verify if the CC card is here
SREF - 4 <-------------- verify if the CC card is NOT here
AUTO SWREF CLK - ENBL
NO ERROR

Since OPT 11c only supports 1 clock source, and 1 clock controller, you need to have the SREF as FREERUN

I don't know if that is the reason for you issue with the frame alignment, but I would correct the programming as part of the process.

Triton, assumption that the CC is on 5, I agree about the 1 clock on an 11, but in this case, unless it's tracking on the secondary, that's not an issue right now! From my experience, framing is "usually" a telco issue...... You can change out all of the equip, bypass the csu's, get a tberd etc and it's still taking slips, just tell the telco to fix it and no BS

Thanks everyone. I think it's probably the CLEC. But...
I work in Dallas and the PBX lives in Seattle.

We have to send vendors out on both sides.

I'll see what I can do. I'll let you know what I find.

phonz1, I agree with you (most likely TELCO issue) but I did not suggest it would fix it (or is causing the problem), I'm just pointing out another issue daleblizz has with the clock programming.

Good luck.

I would try the following:

1. Turn the main T1 down(with the CC) and bring it back up
2. Physically re-seat the card and CC
3. Call Telco to test onsite
4. Swap cards, try a new clock controller card
5. Call Telco again and tell them it has to be them...
