I was plugging some patch cords on a running C3750 stack.
Suddenly the running config was the default config and the startup-config was no more there : I saw it because some links went down (no more "mdix auto" commands in the config and I used straight cables to connect with another switch).
A "show ver" command shows uptime was reset.
I don't know if the switch has rebooted.
But I have no more the Startup-config !
The stack numbers and priority were not reset and the Vlan names not reset.
What has happened ?
I reconfigured the switch but, this is very stressing as it can reproduce.

Sounds like the 3750 lost power and nobody did a write mem or in current terms copy running startup command so you lost the config .

Obviously the first explanation, but not the right one.
In the stack, there were 3 C3750, powered on two different circuits; the AC is an UPS one and another switch (C2950) on the same AC did not reboot.
The switches were tested and configured before racking them, and after racking they were using the config set during tests; so the write mem has been done.

I had the same problem during tests, but, at the time, I thought - like you- I did a mistake.

what is the conf reg set too? Sh ver

Ere is the conf reg :

Configuration register is 0xF

What version of the IOS are you using? It could be a bug.
I had a switch that could not stop rebooting......

I had only one reboot and now the switch works fine since more than a month.
The version is : Version 12.1(19r)EA1b
The switch is : cisco WS-C3750G-12S (PowerPC405)
