Hi,

Can ANYONE suggest why certain preferences keep disappearing on my computer? I'm running OS 10.2.3 on a G4 mac, and have just spent the last hour resetting the preferences for seemingly random applications (like Pitbull, Safari and Internet Explorer) - applications which I have been running quite happily for months. The computer didn't crash, I just restarted because it had got a bit sluggish (and had been on for a few days), and found I had to re-enter my serial code for a few programs, and reset my home page in Safari, ect.

I don't understand this at all - it's extremely frustrating, and has happened twice before. I can't remember it happening before I upgraded to 10.2.3 - could that be it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

George Crawford

Maybe PRAM battery empty?
Try and run diskfirstaid and reset the privilleges. It's best you do that after evry major update.

just an idea of me :)

I use OSX on a G4 at work (Apple)and never have a your problem.
We don't use Safari though.
I heard that Safari is kind of buggy still.
Check for updates?
good luck........
