We had a disaster 2-3 days ago. Server Crashed after a Blackout. We replaced the server with a new one and restored the data from a backup set, including SQL Server 7.0 Data.

Workstations are connected to the Sql Server via an ODBC connection. But the connection is not persistant for some of workstations. They lose the connection after a while with no obvious reason.

Please help , if you have any experience about it.

Thanks in advance,
Ramin

Verfiy the ODBC connections, is that SQL Server Instance Alias or IP address. Compare the cleint network utility of a good Worksation to the one you are having the issue.

Good Luck.

Hi DrSql,

It seems that it's a general issue, and almost all the stations are involved. Now the question is, if every single ODBC connection to an object in sql server is counting toward concurrent connections to server.
I set the server licensing to per server with limitations of 25 concurrent connections. i have about 12-13 stations connected to the network and sql server.

Thanks,
Ramin
