I have an odd situation. Maybe the collective genius here can help me out. In a nutshell, intermittently, a connection between a loop start trunk and an 1140 set won't drop. Here's the scenario:

* Caller dials 615-xxx-6271 (DID number on a PRI)
* x6271 rings to an analog set port (opx 2500 for disc. supv.) 44.0.10.0
* half-tap to NICE logger (that has only analog recording capability)
* x6271 is cross-connected to a Loop Start trunk (40.0.8.4)
* Loop Start trunk PRDN is 8271
* PRDN 8271 rings 29 1140E sets - PVR 8271
* call is answered at one of them and business completed.
* User hangs up the phone and call does not drop, nor can the 1140E user re-access the line.

TNBs of the set, loop start trunk, and one of the 1140Es are below. When I trace the 2500 port, it shows LOCKOUT. Tracing the trunk or 1140E show them connected, but there is not an IP set off-hook nor on hold on that line. It appears on everyone's IP set like there's someone else on it. To break the connection, I have to DSBL the trunk port. Here's what I got when I DSBL the trunk port last night:

Phil, the Phriendly Phone Man

You have built yourself one big nightmare, good luck!!!!

OLD ROLMEN WORKING ON NORTELS AND AVAYA

Sounds like having the NICE tapped onto the analog 500 <-> analog trunk port is holding up the line and not allowing it to release.

Loop start trunks are BIG no no if use for in-coming for Nortel CS1000. There are a lot of post on analog loop start trunk in this forum.

I agree, guys, this is not even close to any "best practices". HOWEVER, we didn't have any issues with this arrangement until we replaced all the M3904s with 1140Es and the Opt 61 with an CS1KE (DAMN, I miss TDM!)

It is extremely intermittent, and I cannot replicate it on-demand (you all know how THAT is!) Could it be a DSP issue? And how would I nail THAT down? I'm drawing at straws, and would appreciate any suggestions or directions.
