Hi

I've got a lookupfield on my dbgrid. So the user select a value from the picklist.

Lets say the following are in the picklist :
banana
apple
grape

The user want to type in g and then it must automatically go to grape. The thing is as far as I can see is that a lookupfield does not have this capability. I know about findnearest, but you can't do findnearest on a loopupfield in a dbgrid. Or I think you can't.

Regards
Karen

Correction a lookupfield gets it information from another table.

The behaviour you want is found in DbComboBox with the properties AutoComplete & AutoDropdown set to true

The way around is to incorporate the dbComboBox in the grid
