I find reference to the ability of visio enterprise .net for architects being able to output reports etc from UML Class diagram/ static model for a data dictionary.

in 2003/2007 professional i am not finding a way to do this or way to expost the 'UML Class Properites' 'Attribute' data in any manor that I can leverage....

any one see anything and or has anyone found a VBA snippet that I could use to expose this?

it is just so Microsoft to have a usable tool and to not make available any of the real needed items unless you get full lisc for full enterprise stuff... I am just a consultant analyst on a project and this corporation is not likely to get me a .NET programming tools that will get me the visio architects data tools

apprieciate in advance if anyone has found code that can be used to get out put from the 'UML Class Properties','Attributes'

thank you thank you

It still bothers me no one has exposed any good path to the data... there seems to be a lot of visio questions on different forums and this and ms blogs etc about this issue which is that visio 2003 and 2007 is not very usefull for software design, data modeling and such if you can only expose properties and attributes and output xml based on drawings/stencils if you have the full .net suite and the visio studio data architects install to boot...

so, I found this

the free community component of Visual Paradigms tool set does what I need.

I can model, put in attributes, and out put XML that can be leveraged by the architect types with ER Studio.

no relation on my end to this product, use my info as is, no warrenty given

but, still, if I have time I will see if I can dig into the user.uml ... properities and find in VISIO how to do what I wanted...

if anyone has the answer, please do tell...

how to expose more of VISIO data to reports/ xml output for consumption by other tools.

thanks
