I've inherited a CP 150 Ver 1.5.32.01 and need to find the IP address, we re-installed it hoping it would fall back to factory default, but no luck logging in with a crossover cable off via lap top on Windows XP, yes my lap top is in the range of the call pilot address 192.168.110.12 for the laptop.

I saw in the FAQ on changing the IP of a CP via Serial Cable, any way in doing so with the Ethernet Crossover?

You have to know what the IP address is to access Callpilot manager. So the crossover cable won't do you any good. Just use a 9-pin maintenance cable and connect to the callpilot with hyperterminal or procomm (or whatever you use). Reboot the system and follow the directions that scroll by. There will be an option to change the IP address.

just to clarify, the IP address is the address tied to the MAC address of the ethernet port on the callpilot. When you are plugging the crossover cable into the callpilot, you are plugging into the port where the IP is assigned.

If you don't know the address of that port, you can't talk to it.

You can do it via the crossover only if you know the IP to begin with.

Use hyper terminal to hook up and then reboot the Call Pilot and follow the instructions by Melissa:

You could (but not neccessary) watch for the IP to scroll by then use the Crossover and then Network:

thank you very much, I'm on site with only a male to female cable, need male to male. Will track one down and try this.

I'll keep you posted.

Thanks

The serial cable needs to be a male to male straight through cable. Make sure that you don't have a null cable.

thanks you for all your help, with a few strugles, it worked like a charge, IP was piped out and we were able to change and put it on the network
