-I have a customer with 2 remote sites.
-Neither site has the networking option enabled.
-Both sites are CXi's with the latest software.
-Both sites have less than 10 phones.
-The cost of adding the networking option to both systems is prohibitive.
-I would rather not introduce 3rd party devices for IP-Analog conversion
-There is rudimentary IP connectivity between the sites

Does anyone know of a way for the Mitel Controllers to connect to each other without adding 3rd party hardware?

i.e. Can we connect sip trunking back to back?

Yes, I got this working, MitelAU's insights in the post 3 NOV 2010 got me past the worst parts. This is definitely a workable solution for small business.

You can't beat a fully networked system though if you can justify the cost.

one other thing on this subject, the phone on switch A recieves a call which they transfer over sip trunks to the phone on switch B and release. The original calling phone rings through to the phone on switch B. While this is ringing the phone on switch A (which is now idle)makes a call elsewhere which connects ok but there is no speech. As soon as B answers the call speech is heard straight away. If you have any ideas, as always much appreciated.

Is there anychance i can have a copy of our doc MitelMatt? address = marcus2008p AT googlemail DOT com, i have a customer who wants to basic network a couple of small 3300 but does not want the ip networking licence cost.

Wireman50 - If you are capable of creating trunks and programming ARS this is very easy.

Why not give it a try and lets us know if you get stuck?
