Looking for opinions on Avaya Powered by 1

Our sales team has scheduled a meeting with our Avaya rep to discuss the cloud solution. I am looking to get some opinions from people who have installed it or are currently using this solution. I am just trying to help our sales team in knowing what questions or concerns they should address at this meeting.

From what I have researched it looks like any other hosted solution. We currently sell Whitelable and and have had limited success in the 10 and under customers.

What I would like is an honest assessment from people who have installed it or used it, and have nothing to gain from either recommending or condemning this route. What I don't need is a bunch of our sales people wowed by thier sales people that will bring doom and dispair to our technicians.

I like it although i stopped working on the IPOffice.
Unlimited SIP and VMPro channels is already a deal breaker.
You do not have to worry about the hardware.

If you're selling IP Office today, the cloud (Powered By) is no different. Other than the fact that the consumption of user licensing is OPEX for both you the partner and your customer, AND you have to host it somewhere. The solution is still IP Office. If that's valuable to you and your team, and you have a good install base of Avaya customers, then its a win win. The Avaya SMB sub 20 seats are great if you're playing in 10 or less seats.

There are two types of powered by that we have been using

Standard - with this you provide the virtual environment and build the IPO using the powered by OVA from the support site. The system is then licenced via WebLM. Then everything else is basically a normal IPO, so you can use VPNs, MPLS etc for phones to route to the IPO, or use J series over the internet using DES. With this you can also add local expansion units if you want to allow ISDN/Analogue devices at the local site if required.

Containerized - With this you order how many users you want and then get sent a URL and a username/password - You then configure this with a SIP trunk (once you have created a template to give to Avaya to assign to your account - so it becomes available for all your containerized installs) and other basic details on initial setup and then manage it using Web Management only. Handsets are either J Series (they can be pre-configured or you can configure them manually) and then you can also have B179s (pre-configured) for conference. This setup allows nothing else but handsets and SIP trunks to be connected to it and uses a tweaked version of embedded voicemail rather than voicemail pro.

We have only used containerized on a test system so far (first real customer to be setup this week), but we have numerous customers now using the first method.

Its full cloud, so everybody is a remote worker regardless of where they are.

The containerized is just an essential addition with out the ability to use the Manager thick client. The virualized is a server edition with al the bells and whistles. Pepp77 pretty well summerized the offering.
