Hello All! I am new to the forum and would like to say hello!
Now down to what my issue is. I have an NEAX 2400 IMS PBX. I have the original computer it was hooked up to and it runs IMX MAT software on nt4.0 sp6. I do not have the original installer or disk. Is there any way to transfer this program to a windows 7 box? Has anyone tried? Our company doesnt plan on upgrading our NEC gear for a few more years so till then, i need to make sure i have a means of connecting to the NEC in case the original PC dies. I have imaged the HD and all that so i am not afraid to rebuild the PC if needed but i was hopeing to be able to manage the PBX from a central computer instead of the NT4.0 box. I have moved the IMXMAT folder onto a win7 32 bit box and have transfered all the DLL files needed to launch EclipseMenu.exe but it results in a DB error and although the IMX MAT Software does launch, When i click on login i get a "cannot locate PBX profile database" error. Any help is appreciated. I do not have a NEC vendor, i am by my lonesome here. Thx in advance.

Two things here, first it is copyrighted and so on ethical websites such as this one we can't help due to that and as there is no "private" messaging system here, we can't even help behind the scenes. All I can suggest is google!

Depending on your PBX software version, you can use the new PCPro program. It is backward compatible to version 5 and works well on WIN 7. You need to contact your authorized NEC vender for a copy.

FWIW I have had to do something similar with my OLD MAT software that runs my two NEC 2400IMG's. I ended up making an image of the working PC and running it in a VMware session (in my case a DOS session) in my Windows 7 machines.

Good luck.

I agree , virtualise it
From memory those older software versions suffered greatly with fast cpu and HDD disk format

I seem to remember some required fat16 partitions and we used to have to run a dos waste.exe file to slow down the cpu on 'faster' pentium pc's

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

If we are talking about the old dos software, you can just copy the folders across to the new machine (running XP mode under windows 7) and it should run just fine. But I thought this was about the IMX mat which is windows based!

Try posting a question here....

I have got to work on windows 7 I can tell you where to get copy of the mat sofeware

Hello everyone. Wanted to thank everyone for your help and input. The software I am running runs on windows Nt4.0 and is not a dos app, It's a windows app. I contacted NEC and got bounced around a bit until I got an email stating that they no longer support my PBX but that I could get in touch with a certified reseller by going to and contact a local dealer. I was going to try the VM and see if that would work. I will also try the software and copy the mdb over. The version I am using is IMXMAT R5 1.00 Build Number 1998/11/25. I did try just copying the folder across from the aimworx nt4.0 PC over to a win7pro computer but got a lot of errors when attempting to launch the software. I copied over the missing DLL files but then the software wouldn't detect the PBX Alias configuration when attempting to log in. I will report back soon. Thank you very much!

let me know if you need an older version , Ill have one on a cd somewhere

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Hi there Billz66. Thx for the download. I tried it out, I installed the application and transferred the MDB over from the NT4.0box over to the win7pro 32bit box but none of the apps work on the win7 32 bit pro OS. Tried launching the apps found in the MAT folder and tried compatibility settings selecting winxp down to nt4.0 but the apps just wont launch at all. If you can locate an older version I would like to give it another try. Thank you very much for your help. I have also virtualized the original CPU using VMware. I can launch the VM and it will boot into the OS but attempts at launching the IMX Mat software result in a pop up error stating DbVersion database error #5. My cloned HD works out well though.

So you can run the IMX mat , click on PBX and connect to the system but cant then use any of the commands?

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Mat for the big systems uses Microsoft Access for the database and so it is entirely possible that V5 uses an older version of Access to maintain the database. Consequently it may not be possible to just copy the database across. Check the versions of the two and use access to upgrade if necessary.

Hello everyone, sorry i have been MIA. Other projects always seem to pop up and take me away from this project.
Billz66 - when i launch the EclipseMenu.exe under c:\IMXMAT\BIN i get a pop up with DBVersion Database Error #5, the i get a second pop up with "could not find menu items". The IMX MAT Menu application will launch anyway but when i attempt to log in under PBX/Login i get a pop up with the error "Cannot locate PBX profile database".
Belvedere, i have tried running the application in XP mode with teh same results as above.
OzzieGeorge - i do have access to Access 97, 2000, and 2003 and can attempt to open/repair the DB up. I am only aware of MS Access 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 7.0, 97, 2000, 2002, 2007, and 2010 but not a version 5 so the error is throwing me for a loop if its MS Access version related.
Thx guys for your help.
Sidenote, The VM still hasnt worked for me, doesnt recognize the database either. I have cloned the HD of teh original computer and found a similar old computer with almost idential specs and that clone works fine. At least i have a backup if this box goes kaboom.

Ok so I'm at a loss here, you say you have an IMS for which there is an IMS MAT but you say you are using the IMX software (different system although very similar) Perhaps this is why you are having the problems?

You need to clarify what you have and re my earlier question, all I can say is, you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink!
