Not sure where else it might be appropriate to ask this question... but I always get good answers here. Company needs a good FTP server. Currently using Windows 2000 Server FTP server, but we need something better with more flexibility.

Need clients to be able to log in to their own "home" directories and be prevented from browsing around. Don't like 2000's implementation of this. I want separate accounts, NOT windows accounts, set up for this, and for permissions to be very specific. Also needs to be able to set up a public area for downloading drivers anonymously.

I've been looking at several but there are so many choices. What seems to work well and have good security? I appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks very much, I'm using it and it looks great.

Have you considered a Linux solution? I use Red Hat and ProFTPD. Its very easy to configure, stable, secure and totally free. It will do exactly waht you are wanting to do. Each user gets a home directory and then you can have a directory to allow annonymous access for your driver downloads
