I am just wanting an honest answer to a question I have, I am not soliciting or trying to market anything. I am working with one of my clients who is offering a free online IT project management resource, my first view of it is that it needs a little tweaking but for the most part I think it provides some good features. What I am wondering is how do I get the IT managment team intersted in using this free resource, what types of incentives do everyone here enjoy the most? Again I am just looking for honesty here so I can develop a plan for this company..

thank you in advance...

My biggest complaint about training concerns content.

First, can you be sure that the material you have in the course is appropriate for the audience? The answer is "yes" if you give a pretest. In other words, pass the pretest and you don't need to take the course. Or on a smaller scale, pass this part of the pretest and you can skip this/these class(es).

Secondly, you should survey your potential audience regarding what topics they feel they need to learn, review, or refresh.

As far as incentives go, in our company we simply require it to be done and make it part of the current rating period's objectives. Fail to achieve the objective and you better have a good reason otherwise your performance review and raise are affected.

Hello everyone, I am sop sorry that I didn't make myself clear, it was late when I typed this up. What I am needing is honest feedback on the types of things I can provide to people for trying out a site. The site is free and offers the following benefits:

• 100% FREE to use for IT decision makers. No Spam, No Ads - 100% Commercial free!
• Manage multiple IT projects from inception to post deployment evaluation; assign team members, manage budgets and timelines, and select solutions.
• Real-time market intelligence helps you understand what other IT professionals are doing on similar projects, and how they are optimizing success.
• Keep track of projects you are responsible for, their development status, and the team members involved.
• Team review tools help your team come to a group consensus on the best products to use in your projects.
• The Product Comparison tool assists in narrowing your product focus so you can better identify products that meet your criteria. Once a group of products have been identified, the product comparison tool allows you to then compare competing products side by side, to find the best fit for your project.
• The Project Advisor provides users with unprecedented project feedback by allowing you to see how other companies with similar projects have applied their resources. The project advisor allows you to compare almost all project-related information including: budget allocation, project objectives, timelines, product selections, and other project-related information.

• The IT Solution Optimizer's product database is 100% unbiased and contains more than 1 million up to date items.
• Interact with your peers via the Peer Community, a forum area where you can discuss IT topics with other IT professionals and find out how they are successfully meeting today's technology challenges. All users of the site are screened, so you can be assured you are in the company of other IT professionals.
• Our privacy policy guarantees 100% anonymity. No personal user information will ever be shared.

This is a free IT project management tool and I am looking for ways to grow the forum. If you are interested in seeing the site please let me know, again I wasn't trying to market anything so I didn't include it..

take care everyone

First, you need a privacy policy that specifically details what you will do with the data. A lot of valuable industrial data could become industrial espionage material in a big hurry.

Second, digital security must be applied to a very large degree. Anyone running a project of any mass or importance would hate to see a simple hack cripple your ASP.

Third, you need to commit to a service level that helps a business running projects what kinds of access you are proposing to deliver. They obviously won't have any real leverage against you if you fail to meet that SLA, but you should establish an expectation with them.
