Have Aloha FOH on an XP PC where the LAN connection on the motherboard cannot go over 100' without failing. Therefore, I installed a NIC card in the PC. With the NIC card, I have connectivity with FOH and BOH PCs where the network/ print shares work on the FOH and BOH PCs. However, when the FOH PCs boot, receive the "Make Fileserver" on the FOH after "Looking for Fileserver". Looked in the log files for FOH and see an "Access Violation" message. Not sure if this is related.
The strange thing is, if I disable the NIC card and reenable the LAN connection on the motherboard, it works.
Any help with this would be appreciated greatly.

You need to use lanacfg to change the lana number of the new nic to 0.

Thanks so much for this.
I'm having a problem finding lanacfg.
I found a lanacfg fow Windows 2000, but not sure if this will work for XP, or possibly damage my system.
Does anyone know where I can find a download?
I went to the MS site, but can't find it.

There are only 2 lanacfg.exe - one wor win98 and the other for 2K-W7. It should be on your Aloha server, just browse for it. Check out my FAQ on this site and follow the instructions.

Cheers,
Coorsman
