My company's email server hard drive collapsed due to physical corruption of the hard drive. I was able to recover the Exchange 5.5 databases and build a new Exchange 5.5 server, but I need to merge the old databases with the new one to recover some data. Much research has shown that the only tool to do this is Exmerge, which used to be available as a download from the Microsoft web site during the Melissa virus problem. It is no longer available there; now the only way to get it is through the Microsoft BackOffice Resource Kit, second edition, which would be hard to find. Because Exmerge was publicly available, it doesn't seem that there would be a legal issue in getting a copy of only the Exmerge utility to use for this one time problem. Does anyone have a copy of Exmerge that I could get, or know where I could find one? If I am wrong about the legal aspect, than obviously I don't want it.
