Go to your customers office and challenge them to point out any electronic device in their office that is older than 7 years. this includes: calculators, clocks, coffee warmers, computers, anything.
I'm willing to bet the cumulative age of all of the devices is less than the age of that voicemail.
Then ask him which devices he can do without. I'm willing to bet the voicemail is not one of them.

It is amazing. I seen some installations that are old enough to vote but the customers think that the equipment should last until it is old enough to colleect social security.
Thank you, idahomitel, any information on basic maintenance would be appreciated so that I can do a little service for them before we get them to upgrade. They want to change auto attendant messages and I believe they have some bad ports from the little information I can get out of them.
You can also get docs and entire COVoice systems from the secondary market. DEAN Enterprises still sells 'em. 800-451-2089. You'd be surprised what there's still a market for. There's even still a market for the SX-50. I know a guy down in S. Texas near Brownsville who still has an old Mitel Entrepreneur in service.
