Hello,

I am an IT consultant and have a client that has asked me to help with their Mitel 5000 phone system. Specifically they need to change the greeting on their night service message. So far I have gathered that this appears to be a greeting on a dedicated mailbox for that purpose but we don't know the mailbox and don't have any information.

The system was purchased through Frontier Communications whom I'm guessing outsourced the install to someone else. It was put in about 3-5 years ago. I can't find any number for Frontier that can get me anywhere... I called and talked to some guy who sounded like he was from India and I couldn't make him understand that I wasn't talking about phone SERVICE but a physical phone system.

I called Mitel and they just referred me to Frontier but couldn't give me any number to reach them.

I have access to the web interface when pointing a browser at the phone box itself. I don't see any other machines so I'm assuming that rack mount box also houses the voicemail? The web interface didn't appear to have any voicemail options listed.

Everyone who was at the client at the time of the install is gone now (employees anyway - anyone who would have been involved in setting it up or been responsible for administration).

If there is an external application for managing the database on the system I do not have it and apparently can't get any software through anyone but the dealer of record.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I can't be of much help to you but I will provide some info.

Yes there is an Administration Software program for managing the system. Most likely the system is password protected so gaining access will be very difficult. The version of the admin software depends greatly on the running software version on the system.

You did not say where you were but you can use Mitel's Website to look for Partners near you.
