When our interoffice IP trunks are out of service, I need UDP calls to automatically route to Telco trunks. The current routing requires that I busyout the IP trunks before it will route calls to the Telco trunks. Would Look Ahead Routing (LAR) correct this?

Thank you

Msybe you could try the route pattern. Put a second trunk in the route pattern, that way when the IP trunk is out of service the route pattern looks at the next specified trunk to route the calls.

The route pattern currently lists (in order of preference) the IP trunks, the long distance trunks, the local trunks. However, calls do not automatically route over the second or third preference trunks when the IP trunks die.

Are you using ip trunks directly off the switch or are you going to a seperate router (or external interface)that is connected to the ip trunks you use?
