If you are with ECi direct, your cost of ownership just went up. $225 per hour and up for consulting, plus your maintenance is now mandated to maintenance & support and the price will double.
If you use Wisys, they also support SAP Business One which is an attractive alternative.
All that said, if you are using Progression or Macola ES you need to get off of it now. If you are using Macola 10 I am sure it will be around for 3 years or so.

GEEZ I don't have time to figure out this...so you are saying that the letter we got to stay with our existing support, we should do or we have no options in the future. We are still on progression, but if we have to totally change everything we may just go with another software totally! THANKS Don, as always you are invaluable.
Sorry I've been away from the Macola fray for a while, been busy learning SAP Business One.
I'm not privy to letter you got but in general, according to ECi no one is allowed to consult on Macola except ECi themselves unless you get a written approval from ECi.
Personally I think that is an unconstitutional restraint of trade, but I am moving on.
