On any of the 9 available lines whether you access them with line(1-9) button or intercom 9 to get the line out when you dial the long distance number the system awaits an input (code) hi-pitched tone. I need to know how to change these codes as per request of director. Are they system codes or telco codes? Please shed some light on my misaprehension please.

YOU WOULD HAVE TO GET HOLD OF YOUR LD VENDOR TO DO THAT, THERE IS NO HIGH PITCH TONE IN A N*

Well its not really a high pitched tone its more like a long beep, if you enter a password that is incorrect it goes onto a fast busy signal. Its not a Restriction or COS password, as I have set COS passwords and restrictions. Would this be a telco long distance access code? or does the N* system have a feature to setup LD passwords other than COS?

Thanks in advance.

What you are hearing, like PERRYPJ said, is a tone from your long distance vendor. this is their control to ensure that you are actually authorized to make the calls. you will have to contact them, this is not the phone system. The long distance vendor will be more than happy to help you change the codes since they want you to make the calls.
