I have a Laptop Latitude, I need to hook up to my NT 4.0 Server. Laptop is W2K Prof.
It says Domain does not exist or cannot be contacted.
I entered the name from the Laptop in to the Service Manager on my NT 4.0 Server.
I rebooted the Laptop and tried again, but still the same error. This is a brand new Laptop, nothing on except the O/S.
Any ideas, I have another Workstation W2K and checked to make sure all the settings are the same.
I used a unique computer name, I don't have to configure TCP/IP etc.

Any ideas what I can try to get this laptop on our network
Thanks

Make sure that when you add the domain login to the laptop you do so while logged in as the Windows 2000 local admistrator. Right click on "my computer" and go through the network wizard. You will also need an account on your domain that has administrator rights to add the computer.

You may also want to verify that you have connectivity to your network. Do you have a valid IP Address? I'm not sure what you mean by "I don't have to configure TCP/IP?"

Another thing you could try is to join the laptop to a workgroup, WORKGROUP is fine. Reboot when directed. Make sure the computer account is not on the network, if necessary. Then join the laptop to the network again as in the reply from JRJoop.
