Hi,
after a successful installation of Crystal Enterprise (8.5) I called Crystal Management Console and was asked for the user/password. I typed in "Administrator" without password, but it didn't work. I tried many versions (administrator, admin, empty, ...) - nothing works. During the installation I was never asked for entering a user/password.
Where can I find, which user I can use?
I don't want to use the NT user, because I need an PlugIn for that. I don't know, where to get it from.
Any ideas, how I can get in?
Regards,
Detlef

The plug in will self install if you use NT Authentication.

Then you can probably use the local NT log in account (add domain if required) to get in.

However something is amiss here, I suspect that someone put in a password. Have you tried logging in as guest with no password? Perhaps it was previously installed on the machine with a password?

Can you get into ePortfolio?

We tried to logon with the NT user's password (as Administrator). No success. The Plu In was not installed.

I also can not get into ePortfolio.

Logon as Guest also doesn't work.
Because of this trouble, we already trashed the whole NT server and reinstalled everything (NT Server with IIS and Service Pack, Oracle client, set ODBC, Crystal Enterprise). So there shouldn't be any password set to Crystal Enterprise.
In the help file I also read, that after the installation, Enterprise user Administrator is installed without password.

Note: After successful working with Crystal Enterprise and Crystal reports for about 2 weeks, I recognized some strange things. I selected a report (.rpt) and wanted to bring it to the server. I alway got a different file than I selected. So I came to the conclusion, that a restart might help. Since this time I have these problems, that I can't use Crystal Enterprise anymore.

Any additional ideas?

Detlef

Hi,
it's solved.
Unfortunately I don't know the exact reason. One reason could be, that I did choose "Register later" after the reinstallation. But this was not the only reason, because I did register after reinstallation at one of my many attempts and it didn't work.
Another reason was, that after "Uninstall" there are still entries in the Registry. Before I did a reinstallation, I removed all of the "Crystal" entries, to which I had access, manually.

Detlef
