logon problem - page file error

hi,
i can't able to login in win2k pro.
when i logon the system , it gives error

LIMITED VIRUTAL MEMORY:
YOUR SYSTEM HAS NO PAGING FILE OR THE PAGING IS TOO SMALL

for this how can i increase the paging file.

After it gives you that error, does it kick you to the logon prompt again? Are you able to boot into safe mode and change it there? If you can login, r-click on my computer -properties, then -advanced -performance settings -change virtual memory. Normally it should be 1.5 X your physical ram.

I had this problem on 1 machine after installing Win2000 SP3. The solution that worked for me was to Reboot using a Win98SE Boot Disk. Then at the A:> prompt, Type Fdisk /mbr

I was then able to Boot into Win2000 and fix the pagefile settings....

hi allenadale,
i tried ur tips, now the system is not booting,
its giving - MISSING OPERATING SYSTEM

i transfer the sys file form win98. still it says same problem.

iam having dual boot. win98 & win2kpro with ntfs problem
before i am doing fdisk option, i tried repair disk and all boot options.(safe mode,command,etc.)

Yes I know you can't get into your system. I'm familiar with this problem. My question was can you boot into safe mode, but I guess it doesn't matter now.

now i cant able to boot throu hard disk,the mbr corupted.
now booting win98 throu floppy.

but before i tried all options its says same problem.
ithink the solution is reinstalling the O.S.

i feel win2k is very worst recovery O.S.
