I have been looked out of Access when I try to start it. It ask for a username and pwd. I did not set a user name or pwd. I can't get Access to start to chage or look to see if there is a pwd.
I have not reloaded the software yet.

Any ideas on how to get past the logon popup?

Thanks

I am not sure how you have done this but one good way round it is to create a new blank database attached to a backup of the system.mdw file and use get external data and basically import the database you are having problems with.

Good luck.

I can't even start Access to do this. Before the program starts it ask for a logon and pwd.

Try holding down the shift key, keep it held down and then double click the Access Icon. YOu must keep the shift key down for a while. If this does not work, then you will need to re-install. Or you could go to Excel and import the data from the Database.

Are you using a shortcut to start the database? If so, check to see if there are any command line parameters in the shortcut pointing you to a different workgroup file.

Run "WRKGADM.EXE" (probably in your Windows\System folder). Make sure you're joined to System.mdw. If you are, try typing "user" in the "name" box, and leave the password blank. That may work.

If that doesn't do it, see if you have more than one copy of system.mdw. If you do, try joining that one.

If that doesn't work, you should be able to reinstall Access which will create a new system.mdw file. It sounds like someone has set a password for a user name. If they didn't implement security, then you should be OK.
