I installed the Novell client 4.81 for Windows 2000 and evrytime I log in, I get an error in the Login Script saying, " Login-4.21.15-440: The operation was attempted on an invalid drive". Every other drive checks out fine but the drive this error is referring to is the drive for my File Server. All the other computers that have this client installed can see all the drives without problem. Can anyone help me?

Is this user specific or computer? In other words, does anyone who logs in have a problem with the server drive on that computer? If not, does the user have the rights for the drive mapping or to even login to the server?

Cheers,

Mark ;-)

This problem occurrs when anyone logs into this computer. I've tried reinstalling the client but I still get this error.

Once logged in, can you map the drive manually using Explorer or in a CMD prompt using the MAP command? Is it a different server to the other drive mappings? -----------------------------------------------------

I cannot map this drive at all and the drives that are showing are all part of the same server.

In your Login Script, I am going to assume that you are using the following command lines to map your drives...

Map f:=<SERVERNAME>\<VOLUME>:<PATH>

Try using a fully distiguished NDS name to complete the mappings...

Map f:=.User.SERVER1_VOL1.SERVER1.TREE

I have read that NT/2000 has problems executing the Bindery-style command lines from a NetWare Login Script.

Good Luck!

try the latest and greatest client software from novell. there is an update to that one. Also, do you have the client for Microsoft installed as well? uninstall this if so but be sure to uninstall it before removing the novell client cause i've had problems with this.

I'd suggest doing what salserocito suggested first. Post your login script if you want so we can take a look. -----------------------------------------------------

I'll give it a try and let you know.
