I am trying to create a login page, but it doesn't seem to work.

What I have done so far:

- created a database (access).
- created a login page (asp) and used the standard 'Server Behavious' within dreamweaver MX to login user.
- pointed what need to be pointed at (success page, fail page).

But when I try it I get a 'page cannot be displayed' with the following error

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80004005)
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Could not use '(unknown)'; file already in use.
/index.asp, line 14

This is what is on line 14 'MM_rsUser.ActiveConnection = MM_mancon_STRING'

Does anyone have any ideas what I have done wrong please.

Thanks

ironhorse4000,

Couple of Qs, firstly make sure that the db isn't open. I've just changed from W98 (Oiffce 2K) to XP Pro (Office XP) and found that W98 would allow the ASP pages to access the db under W98, as long as Access did not have any tables open. Under the XP combo, the database cannot be open in Access at all, otherwise you'll get that error.

If its not that, post your connection string (remove database username and password first) and we can have a look at that.

Cheers.

Matt.
