I've never used DFS before and don't know an awful lot about it (apart from what's suggested by the name !!). We have 4 servers (all in the same physical location and network) which have different shared folders distributed across them - eg user home folders etc. The problem we are having now is that some servers have a lot of free space while some are running low. These are just normal HP ProLiant servers, we don't have any SAN or anything (if only !!).
What I want to know is, would DFS work for us? I escentially want to have a logical file server with shares that have folders distributed across multiple servers. Also, we currently have volume shadow copying enabled on these servers - can we still do this if/when DFS is setup?
